Hi, I’m Kanwal — a wedding photographer and filmmaker based in Northern Virginia. I’ve been documenting weddings since 2021, capturing stories through photography, videography, and 35mm film.

You might wonder why I call my brand Films by Kanwal when I also offer photography. The truth is, I started with videography at a time when there were very few female videographers in the DMV. Even as my offerings have grown, the name is a nod to where it all began.

Whether you book me for one service or all three, you’ll always get me. For larger projects, I bring in a handpicked team, but I’ll remain your primary point of contact from start to finish.

Weddings, to me, are about more than portraits of the couple — they’re about families coming together, quiet in-between moments, bursts of laughter, and joyful tears. I love being there with you every step of the way, documenting the moments that will become your family’s heirlooms.
